Pierre Moncuit, Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Grand Cru 2008

While most ratings and scores in the wine world should be taken with a grain of salt, the 99-points given to the 2008 vintage in Champagne is one we vouch for. That’s important here because while most Champagne is a blend of several different years, this Grand Cru from Pierre Moncuit comes entirely from 2008. It’s a Blanc de Blancs - made solely with chardonnay– that has developed brown butter and nutty flavors with age, while still retaining the refreshing citrus-y notes that make it an incredibly food-friendly wine too. You’ll like this wine if you like Krug and Dom Perignon.

Tastes like: Lemon, apricot, fresh-baked biscuits. 

How to drink: Serve in normal wine glasses to get all the aromas. Enjoy it with lobster, caviar, or some fried chicken.
